Loose motions can be quite worrying, especially during seasonal changes. The most important thing is to prevent dehydration. Give your child plenty of fluids – sips of ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) after every loose motion is crucial. You can also offer clear soups, coconut water, or homemade lemon water with a pinch of salt and sugar.
For food, stick to easily digestible, bland options like khichdi, curd rice (dahi chawal), mashed banana, idli, or steamed veggies. Avoid spicy, oily, or sugary foods and milk for a day or two. Ensure good hygiene, like frequent handwashing. If the loose motions are severe, frequent, last more than a day, or if you notice signs of dehydration like reduced urination, lethargy, or dry mouth, please consult your pediatrician immediately. They can best guide you on medication if needed.
