Hi, friends, my baby is 1 year, he is still not walking. My sister's son started walking when he was just 10 months old. Kindly suggest when can I introduce a walker, a few Doctors suggest not to use it, is that true?
Latest advice
It’s very common for babies to start walking anywhere between 9 to 18 months, so your 1-year-old is well within the normal developmental window. Please don't worry or compare him to his cousin; just like flowers bloom... See more at their own time, every child reaches their milestones at their unique pace. Your baby is likely busy developing other skills like crawling, pulling up, or cruising, which are all important precursors to walking.
Regarding walkers, many doctors do advise against them, and they are right. Walkers can be quite unsafe, increasing the risk of falls down stairs or into hazards, and they don't actually help babies learn to walk sooner. In fact, they can sometimes delay natural development by preventing your child from building the necessary core strength and balance. Instead, encourage him to pull himself up on furniture, cruise along, and spend plenty of time on the floor to explore and develop his muscles naturally. He will take those first independent steps when he's ready!
