Gastric issues can indeed be very uncomfortable, beta. To ease the fullness and uneasiness, try eating smaller, frequent meals instead of large ones. Sip warm water throughout the day, especially after meals. Ajwain (carom seeds) water – boil a spoon in water and drink it – is an age-old remedy that works wonders. Hing (asafoetida) added to your dal and vegetables also helps with digestion. Yes, you can eat rice, but opt for well-cooked, soft rice (like khichdi) in moderation, avoiding overly fried or spicy rice preparations. However, the chest pain you mentioned is something to take very seriously and... See more

Are these foods good for baby? Iam craving for that. Please suggest.
I'm 7 months pregnant and I-am craving for and would like to ask, is it dangerous for the baby if I eat a cake, fruit desert, yogurt, salted cashews, vinegar chips?

It's wonderful that you're listening to your body's cravings during this special time! Most of the foods you've mentioned can be enjoyed in moderation. Yogurt is actually a fantastic choice, providing essential calcium and probiotics which are beneficial for both you and the baby. Salted cashews offer healthy fats and protein, but do keep an eye on the salt content to avoid excessive water retention or impact on blood pressure. For items like cake, fruit dessert, and vinegar chips, it's perfectly fine to indulge occasionally to satisfy your craving. However, these are typically higher in sugar, salt, and sometimes artificial... See more

Dearest expecting mother, congratulations! For smart, hands-off investments today, focus on plans designed for long-term growth and security. For a girl child, the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) is excellent for education and marriage, offering high interest and tax benefits with minimal management once set up. For any child, the Public Provident Fund (PPF) is another robust, government-backed option for long-term education savings, providing safety and good returns. For potentially higher growth, consider a Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) in a well-diversified equity mutual fund, which automates regular investments for significant wealth creation over time. Crucially, secure your child's well-being by protecting... See more

Fitness Tips for New Moms New mom banne ke baad, time ki kami mein apni fitness maintain karna thoda mushkil ho sakta hai, par bilkul possible hai! Bade goals set karne ki bajaye, chote-chote, practical steps lijiye. Jaise, apne baby ke saath daily 15-20 minute ki walk par jaana. Yeh aapke liye fresh air aur halki exercise hogi. Ya phir, gharelu kaam karte hue beech-beech mein stretch ya light squats kar sakti hain. Consistency zaroori hai, intensity nahi. Apne routine mein 5-10 minute ke short online workouts ya yoga stretches shamil karein. Jab baby so raha ho ya khel raha... See more

How do I handle family pressure to give my newborn traditional ghutti or water before six months?
How do I handle family pressure to give my newborn traditional ghutti or water before six months?

Dear mother, it's very common for elders to lovingly suggest traditional remedies like ghutti or water. They mean well and draw from generations of wisdom. However, modern medical science, including your pediatrician and global health organizations, strongly recommends exclusive breastfeeding or formula for the first six months. Giving anything else, even water, during this period can actually be harmful for your newborn's delicate system. Gently explain to your family that your doctor has advised against giving ghutti or water right now. You can say, "Doctorji said it's very important for baby's healthy growth and to prevent infections that only mumma's... See more

Aapki pregnancy aur parenting journey bahut personal hoti hai, aur jab log unwanted comments karte hain, toh patience rakhna mushkil ho jaata hai. India mein yeh common hai ki log "advice" dete hain, chahe unse pucha jaaye ya nahi. Sabse pehle, yaad rakhiye ki har koi apni experiences ke hisaab se bolta hai. Unki baaton ko personal mat lo. Apni mental peace aur baby ki well-being sabse important hai. Patience banaye rakhne ke liye, ek filter develop karo. Jo comments useful nahi hain ya aapko upset karte hain, unhe ignore karna seekho. Aap politely bol sakte ho, "Thank you for... See more

Dear mom-to-be, it is generally best to avoid bumpy auto-rickshaw rides during your first trimester if you can. The early months are delicate, and strong jerks on uneven Indian roads can cause back strain, pelvic discomfort, or fatigue. While normal road vibrations rarely cause a miscarriage in an uncomplicated pregnancy, heavy shocks and sudden jolts are best avoided. Whenever possible, try opting for a car, cab, or metro for a smoother commute. If taking an auto-rickshaw is unavoidable, keep these practical tips in mind: Tell the driver: Politely ask him to drive slowly and steer clear of potholes ("Bhaiya, dhire... See more
