Balancing family traditions and medical advice during pregnancy is very thoughtful! The key is open, respectful communication with both your family and your doctor. Share your family's customs with your doctor – often, there are safe ways to adapt or find alternatives. For instance, if a specific traditional food isn't recommended, ask if a healthy substitute can be used. When discussing medical advice with your family, explain why certain recommendations are important for your and the baby's health. You can frame it positively, like, "The doctor says this will help our baby be strong for all the upcoming family celebrations."... See more

Haan bilkul, New Moms ke paas time kam hota hai, isliye yeh simple 5-minute daily routine aapke liye perfect hai! Morning mein nahaane ke turant baad, 2 minutes nikal kar apne face par Aloe Vera gel ya Vitamin C serum lagayein dullness kam karne ke liye. Phir bache hue 3 minutes mein stretch marks par Bio-Oil, Coconut Oil ya Shea Butter se light circular motion mein massage karein. Regular massage se blood circulation badhta hai aur marks dhere-dhere light hone lagte hain. Iske saath hi, din bhar mein kam se kam 8-10 glass paani zaroor piyein taaki skin andar se... See more

For your 12-week-old, it's quite common to have some day-night confusion, but we can gently help them adjust. Start by maximizing daytime light and activity. During the day, keep curtains open, talk and play with your son when he's awake after feeds, even if it's just for 45-60 minutes between naps. You can gently try to extend his wake windows by engaging him – perhaps a light massage (malish) or tummy time, which are also wonderful for his development. Ensure he gets good, full feeds during the day so he's not overly hungry at night. As evening approaches, begin dimming... See more

Beta, it's completely understandable to feel anxious, especially with a history of phobias like needles, blood, and hospitals. Many women experience some level of fear about pregnancy and childbirth, and adding these specific phobias makes it even more challenging. It's wonderful that you and your husband want children, and please know that with the right support, you can absolutely navigate this journey successfully. The most important first step is to speak openly with a trusted doctor or even a counselor specializing in prenatal anxiety. They can help you develop coping strategies, explain procedures, and slowly desensitize you to your fears.... See more

Postpartum recovery takes a huge toll on our bodies, but high blood pressure and heart palpitations after delivery must be evaluated by a doctor immediately. Please visit your gynecologist or a physician right away. While these symptoms can sometimes stem from exhaustion, severe anemia, or post-delivery anxiety, they can also be signs of postpartum preeclampsia or thyroid imbalances that require proper medical care. While you schedule your medical check-up, here are a few practical steps to manage your comfort: Track your numbers: Log your BP readings twice daily so your doctor has accurate data. Prioritize rest: Sleep deprivation spikes blood... See more

Answered 3 weeks ago
This type of unbearable pain, starting from the hip and extending all the way to the toes, often points towards issues with the sciatic nerve. It's commonly referred to as sciatica, but it could also be due to a muscle strain or a problem with your spinal disc putting pressure on nerves. It is very important that you consult a doctor, ideally an orthopedic specialist, without delay. They will be able to properly diagnose the exact cause through a thorough examination and recommend the right treatment. For temporary relief, try to rest and avoid any heavy lifting or sudden movements.... See more

Can my employer in India legally terminate my job during my probation period simply because I announced my pregnancy?
Can my employer in India legally terminate my job during my probation period simply because I announced my pregnancy?

No, dear! Under Section 12 of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, it is completely illegal for your employer to terminate your employment simply because you announced your pregnancy. This legal protection applies to all women employees in India, whether you are permanent, on contract, or currently serving your probation period. Indian courts have repeatedly ruled that no woman can be discriminated against or fired due to motherhood. Practically speaking, some employers might try to disguise such a termination by citing "unsatisfactory performance." To protect yourself, always intimate your HR about your pregnancy via email to keep a written record. Save... See more

Even for a housewife, filing an ITR is very important as it creates an official record of your financial standing. This becomes crucial if you ever need to apply for a loan – be it a home loan with your husband, a personal loan, or even credit cards – as banks often require ITRs for proof of income and creditworthiness, even for low or nil income. It also helps in processing visa applications, where financial transparency is key. Moreover, if you have any income from investments like fixed deposits, and TDS has been deducted, filing an ITR is the only... See more
