Postpartum recovery takes a huge toll on our bodies, but high blood pressure and heart palpitations after delivery must be evaluated by a doctor immediately. Please visit your gynecologist or a physician right away. While these symptoms can sometimes stem from exhaustion, severe anemia, or post-delivery anxiety, they can also be signs of postpartum preeclampsia or thyroid imbalances that require proper medical care.

While you schedule your medical check-up, here are a few practical steps to manage your comfort:

  • Track your numbers: Log your BP readings twice daily so your doctor has accurate data.
  • Prioritize rest: Sleep deprivation spikes blood pressure. Please lean on family members to handle household chores and baby duties while you rest.
  • Adjust your diet: Reduce salt intake, completely avoid tea, coffee, and stress, stay well-hydrated with water, and practice slow, deep breathing whenever you feel uneasy
