Dear Mom, while traditional elders often suggest that eating extra ghee "greases" the birth canal for a normal delivery, scientifically, this is a myth! Your digestive system and birth canal are completely separate. Having a moderate amount of ghee is safe and gives you good energy, but consuming excessive ghee will not guarantee a normal delivery. In fact, overeating ghee can cause excessive weight gain, severe heartburn, and indigestion right before labor.

For a healthy delivery, focus on practical steps instead: stay active with daily light walking, practice pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises, and stay well-hydrated. You can safely enjoy 1 to 2 teaspoons of ghee daily as part of a balanced diet, but avoid heavy amounts. Always check with your doctor to guide you best based on your health!
