Many Indian mothers traditionally believe that eating ghee in the third trimester helps make delivery smoother. While there isn't direct scientific evidence proving ghee specifically "lubricates" the birth canal for an easier delivery, it's not entirely a myth either when seen from a holistic health perspective for maternal well-being.
Ghee is a healthy source of fat that provides energy, aids in the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, and can help prevent constipation, which is common during pregnancy. These factors contribute to your overall well-being, which is certainly helpful for coping with labor. However, moderation is key. Too much ghee can lead to excessive weight gain, which isn't advisable. Focus on a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and continue gentle exercises approved by your doctor. Your overall health and fitness are the biggest helpers for a smooth delivery!
