Can i have jaggery if i have diabetes?

Can we take jaggery in case of diabetes? whats the alternative or replacement of sugar for diabetic patients?

Yes diabetic patients can eat palm (khajur) jaggery in controlled quantities.However, make sure that these are not adulterated and are not mixed with sugar, sugarcane jaggery or any other sweetener.
