What is the procedure to file complaint in Cyber cell.

I have a friend who is very disturbed these days. She get dirty and vulgar messages from a facebook ID. she blocked him but every new id he creates and send messages. This is been a month and she is scared now. I want to ask you that where we can file complainst against that person in Cyber cell. What is the procedure.

Hello, there no such complicated procedure/process for filing complaint in cyber cell, you just need to draft a simple written complaint in hindi or english or any regional language of your state, explaining all the events, facts and circumstances which have happened against your friend and submit the same in the police station and cyber department (you may take address details of cyber department from police officials). You may also lodge a complaint online in cyber department, as some states provide online assistance also.

It's very distressing to hear what your friend is going through. The first and most crucial step is to gather all possible evidence. Ask her to take screenshots of all the vulgar messages, the Facebook IDs sending them (even if new ones), and note down the exact dates and times these messages were received. This evidence is vital for her complaint.

Once she has this information, she should immediately file an online complaint through the official National Cybercrime Reporting Portal: cybercrime.gov.in. She can choose to file an anonymous or registered complaint under the 'Report Women/Child Related Crime' section. After filing online, if she feels the need for further intervention or assistance, she can visit her nearest local police station or the Cyber Crime Cell, carrying all the collected evidence and the complaint reference number. They will guide her further and ensure action is taken. She doesn't have to face this alone.
