Hello dear,

Hope you are doing good. As for your friend, I want to say abuse in any form, be it mental or physical is not acceptable. By what you have mentioned it looks like she is not happy. In such case I would suggest that your friend try to talk with her parents so that they can talk with her husband family. If still things dont work then ask him to move out of the relationship. It is important that she try to make herself financially independent so that she does not depend on anybody. This way she will also gain confidence. Also what is important is mental support. Being a friend try to give her the support and stand by her.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

It's truly heartbreaking to hear what your friend is going through. As a concerned friend, your priority should be to encourage her to prioritize her safety and well-being. Please tell her that no one deserves to be abused, verbally or otherwise, and it's never her fault.

Suggest she first confide in a trusted family member, perhaps her parents or a close elder, who can offer support and intervene. More importantly, she should not hesitate to seek professional help. There are many organizations and helplines in India dedicated to helping women in such situations. She can contact the National Commission for Women (NCW) helpline (1091 or 112), or local police. Legal advice from a lawyer specializing in family law can also guide her on her rights and available protective measures. Remind her that she is not alone, and help is available.
