How can I ensure my child's school truly fosters creativity and critical thinking, rather than just rote learning?

Latest advice
Namaste! It's wonderful that you're focusing on creativity and critical thinking. To truly foster this, observe if the school encourages children to ask "why" and "how", not just "what". Look for classrooms where children actively discuss ideas, work on projects that require problem-solving, and are given opportunities to present their own unique perspectives, rather than simply memorising facts from a textbook. Activities like debates, science experiments, art projects, and storytelling with open-ended prompts are great indicators. At home, you can reinforce this by asking your child thought-provoking questions daily: "What do you think about...?" or "How could we solve this?".... See more

Given India's fierce competition, how can I ensure my child's education fosters critical thinking and emotional intelligence, not just exam scores?

Latest advice
Dear Mother, In India's competitive landscape, fostering holistic development is paramount. To nurture critical thinking, encourage your child to ask "why" and "how." Engage them in daily discussions, asking for their ideas and solutions for everyday problems, like "What do you think is the best way to handle this?" or analyzing a story's plot. Play strategy-based board games and puzzles together, and read widely, discussing the themes and characters to help them analyze information and form independent opinions. For emotional intelligence, create a safe space for your child to express feelings without judgment. Talk openly about emotions you both experience... See more

Hey guys good morning ..what s the best age for schooling..my baby s 2 years nd 1 month ..can I sent him in play school...
Latest advice
At 2 years and 1 month, your little one is still very young! While some centers accept toddlers at this age, the ideal time for formal play school is around 2.5 to 3 years. Right now, there is absolutely no rush for structured learning. At this tender stage, children learn best through free play at home, listening to rhymes and stories, and spending quality time with family. If you want him to socialize, consider a short 1-to-2-hour mother-toddler program or playgroup rather than a full play school. Latest advice
Choosing a school board for your child is a big decision, and it's natural to feel confused. For most Indian families, the primary options are CBSE, ICSE, and State Boards. CBSE is widely popular for its uniform curriculum across the country, making transfers easier and aligning well with competitive exams like JEE/NEET. It's generally seen as balanced. ICSE, on the other hand, is known for its detailed, application-based curriculum with a strong focus on English literature and practical skills. State Boards are excellent if you plan to stay in one state and might offer education in regional languages. Before deciding,... See more

Beta, playgroup mein bachche bahut chhote hote hain, unhe pressure mat do. Is age mein learning fun aur playful honi chahiye. Alphabets sikhane ke liye aap singing ka use kar sakte ho, jaise "ABCD" song. Flashcards, colourful alphabet books ya blocks se khelenge toh unhe visual aur tactile learning ka experience milega.

Unhe daily life mein dikhao, jaise 'A' for apple, 'B' for ball. Chhote chhote sessions rakho, 5-10 minutes se zyada nahi, taaki woh bored na ho. Har bachche ka learning pace alag hota hai, patience rakhiye aur celebrate small achievements. Jaldi hi woh pakad lenge!

Latest advice
Choosing between Sanskrit and French at the 5th-grade CBSE level depends on your child's learning style and long-term academic goals. Sanskrit is widely considered a high-scoring subject in CBSE exams because its grammar rules are very logical and closely aligned with Hindi. If your child is comfortable with Hindi, Sanskrit will feel familiar, require less extra coaching, and help boost their overall percentage easily in higher classes. On the other hand, French offers great global exposure and builds an exciting new skill set. However, modern foreign languages require regular practice, correct pronunciation, and often external guidance if no one at... See more

What can be best after school activity for kids?

What can be best after school activity for young kids??? Can anyone help.
Latest advice
For young children, the "best" after-school activity is one that balances fun, learning, and allows them to explore their natural curiosity without added pressure. Instead of overloading them, think about what sparks their interest. Activities that foster creativity, like drawing, painting, or pottery classes, are wonderful for developing imagination and fine motor skills. Similarly, music lessons such as learning the keyboard, harmonium, or even simple rhythm instruments can be very engaging. Equally important are activities that promote physical development and social skills. This could be outdoor play in a park, light sports like badminton or cycling, or even just free... See more

How can I apply for teaching in government schools after B.Ed

How can I apply for teaching in government schools. I have done my B.Ed but don't have enough support for further studies. WHen i apply they ask for TET and CTET. How to get a job ? I really need it.
Top advice | 5 vote
Hi dear,

If you want to apply for government schools then you have to go for TET which is Teacher Eligibility Test for the particular state and for central school CTET is compulsory dear. Since you really need a job and have a B.ed too I would suggest you to go for private school and keep giving the exams side by side... Once you pass these exams then you can leave the private one and go for the government schools.. Hope this helps.

How to make my 5 year old son to study

At five years old, children naturally learn through movement and play rather than formal study routines. Expecting a young child to sit quietly and understand the long-term importance of education is unrealistic, which is why he makes excuses. Instead of forced study sessions, keep learning time to short 10 to 15-minute bursts once or twice a day. Convert his lessons into games—use counting during playtime, trace letters in sand or with finger paints, and read colorful storybooks together to build vocabulary without making him feel pressured. Set a gentle daily routine right after snack time, and use a simple star... See more

What should I provide my 9 year old biy to make him energetic?

My 9-year-old boy never focuses on Maths, and I can see he is not good at it. I want to build the interest. I am not that creative in my teaching skills so I want some ideas of how to build his interest and overcome the fear of maths?
Latest advice
Hi dear! Fear towards maths is common in some kids. Even we faced this during our childhood. Other subjects except maths need to be studied and should be byheart. But when coming to maths, it only needs practice, not byhearting. More and more practice makes maths easier for children and make them feel maths is damn easy when compared to other subjects. For this, you only need to make them practice problems by sitting along with them. Teach them formulas and ask them to memorize formulas or you can teach derivation of formula given in textbooks. Before you sit to... See more

My daughter wants to become a Doctor.

My daughter wants to become a Doctor. During her +2 level what exams she should appear in and which coaching classes she should join? Any leads will be appreciated.
Latest advice
It is wonderful to hear about your daughter's dream to become a doctor! For medical admissions in India, the single mandatory exam she must clear after 12th is NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Ensure she builds a rock-solid foundation in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Her top priority should be mastering the NCERT textbooks line by line, as the NEET paper is heavily based on them, alongside keeping up with her 12th board preparation. For coaching, reputed institutes like Aakash Institute, Allen Career Institute, or cost-effective online platforms like Physics Wallah (PW) provide structured study material and regular test series.... Hello dear...I've experienced this with my sister's kid. This sort of mindset kills peacefulness in kids as well as parents. To overcome it, please motivate your kid that he should change his behavior of running behind 1st rank. Explain to him that his failure gives u more satisfaction than his hurry to be the winner. Sometimes failures make learn a better lesson than success. Running mentally for the highest marks leaves him into stress and it affects his health. Activities mainly jogging, yoga, games help kids to gain more mental power along with physical fitness which in turn plays an... See more

Living in a new city and choosing a local language can feel overwhelming, especially when you cannot help your child with their homework. Learning Telugu is a wonderful way for your child to connect with classmates and adapt to the local culture. However, if a move back to North India is on the cards, picking a regional language might cause unnecessary academic stress when you relocate. Here are a few practical points to consider before deciding: Explore transferable options: Check if the school offers Hindi or Sanskrit as an additional language option, as these will seamlessly align with your home...
